
Prior to setting up Eildon Safety Services in April 2009, Mark Hinchliffe was responsible for health and safety at the local Council. He was actively involved in all aspects of the management of health and safety, including event safety management.
Mark has over 21 years practical experience in health and safety and risk management, gained through working in many business sectors, e.g. mining; construction; production; retail; leisure and local authorities, etc. and he is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH), and more recently, he has been accepted as a member of the nationally approved 'Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register' (OSHCR).
Mark has always promoted a sensible and practical approach health and safety and he believes that health and safety compliance should not be through generic off the peg documentation, but by tailor making the health and safety management system meet the needs and requirements of the organisation.
Mark has been actively involved in developing and delivering a wide range of health and safety training courses and he has also produced a number of practical interactive health and safety elearning courses, which are tailored to meet client’s needs. 
Marks experience in event safety management is wide ranging and it includes the Queens Golden Jubilee visit to the Borders; Melrose Sevens Rugby; Selkirk Rally (largest vintage and classic car rally in Scotland); Pipe band championships, (various); horse riding events; festivals and parades, (various) and lots more.
